Meet The Team

We have a wonderful team of volunteers at Buxton Baby Bank

Kirsty, Founder, and Head Coordinator

I am the creator of High Peak Baby Bank. But I mostly sit about eating cake and coming up with mad plans. I have two wonderful children and was a chef before becoming a mother. I have a passion for helping people, especially families. I grew up in a family with seven children, and times were tough. I just hope I can put my skills and experiences to good use.

Zoie, Operations Manager, and Stock Controller

I’m Zoie, I have a 5-year-old son and I work at a local primary school in Buxton. I started at Buxton Baby Bank while I was a stay-at-home mum and wanted to ease myself back into a working environment while helping people at the same time. I’m now operations manager and secretary and you’ll often find me replying to inquiries too.

Carla, Treasurer, and Accounts Manager

Hi, I’m Carla. I’m a mum of two grown-up daughters and a son. Before moving to Buxton in 2021 I worked overseas as an SEN teacher for 8 years. Having been a teen mum I was touched by Kirsty’s passion for helping families and babies and wanted to help. I deal with the finances, channel my chronic organising side and cuddle all the babies.

Sarah, Events Manager & Grants Officer

Hi, I’m Sarah, Mummy to Aiden who was born in October 2020, the start of the 2nd lockdown. I joined the Baby Bank in April 2021, once the restrictions started lifting and we could help Kirsty with sorting donations and deliveries. I could see immediately what a wonderful woman Kirsty is. After returning to work in November, I’m mainly involved in the management of the events now, which are an exciting branch for us to have added as it really brings people together and we can see the positive impact we are having across the Community. Makes me very proud to be a part of it all.

Gemma, Distribution Supervisor

Hi, I’m Gemma, I have a daughter, born in February 2021, and moved to Buxton in September 2021. I joined the Baby Bank to make friends and keep myself busy during maternity leave. Having a child can sometimes be a lonely place, especially after having a baby in lockdown. We’ve been made to feel so welcome by the whole team so I really hope to keep that going by making everyone who uses the Baby Bank feel equally welcome and to help any way we can.

Leanne, Human Resources

Soraya, Logistics Coordinator

Hi, I’m Soraya, mum to 2 girls, the eldest who is 3 and my youngest will be 1 in June.
I joined the baby bank as I wanted a way to get out of the house on maternity leave and to do something that helped the local community, all with my 2 girls in tow, no easy feat!
I was welcomed with open arms into the team and soon found a group of amazing friends.

Hannah, IT and Social Media Manager

Hi, I’m Hannah and I am the newest member of the Baby Bank family. I have a beautiful baby boy who we welcomed into the world in 2021. Kirsty has been a wonderful friend, co-worker, and role model to me for almost 10 years, and now I’ve become a mother, it was only natural to join her and the Baby Bank in helping other parents, and meeting other mothers within the Baby Bank team.
